Believe in yourself. That could be the end of the blog, but since you clicked this far I’ll weave a larger tapestry for you to observe and ponder.
Confidence is a high octane fuel that improves output in every area of your life. When you believe that you are doing the right thing, it is easier to commit to the actions on your agenda. If you trust yourself, you can act with confidence even though you may have a history littered with decisions that were not the healthiest.
You can be broke and make smart and strong moves with your financial resources. You can be out of shape and still make good decisions for your heart and your body. Results will require consistent application of strong techniques, but your confidence can be built on a daily basis.
An easy thing you can start doing for yourself today is stop the negative self-talk. This is a natural function of most contemporary human minds. An example from my life would be me expanding a mistake into the past and future. “You ALWAYS ignore the small details, Josh. You’re NEVER going to pay attention to what you’re doing, are you?”
When you catch yourself starting that negative cycle, acknowledge it and let go. You’re not always going to be broke, single, and sitting in the drunk-tank with the other winos (they don’t keep you for more than 12 hours, usually). Once you’ve rallied your own mind behind your cause, building confidence will be a whole lot easier.
