Josh Sabraw, Personal Trainer in Portland

My fitness career began in junior high school, as a young introvert trying desperately to avoid being shoved in a locker.  I checked out a weight training book from the library and began training myself to become stronger.  By the time I was in the 9th grade, I was a 14 year old who had enough chutzpah to keep from being bullied.  I began training my friends and my career began in earnest!

While serving in the United States Army, I found a position as special populations physical trainer.  I managed the post-rehabilitation of soldiers who were training to achieve Army fitness standards.  Self guided, I studied and practiced wider and wider techniques to help people meet their goals.  When I left the Army, I quickly found my stride as personal trainer in the private sector, which exposed me to a new host of challenges and growth as a person and a professional.  I coach people in a well-equipped, functional gym in Portland, helping people lose weight, recover from pain, and generally live with more vitality.

My business, Form and Function, is inspired by the teachings of Paul Chek and the CHEK Institute located in San Diego, California.  While writing a business plan, I watched the film adaptation "Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman and was led to CHEK institute.

My driving goals with Form and Function is to enhance vitality, relieve pain, and improve the lives of each and every person I work with, wether for one session or for ten years!
